In praise of laziness
Flashback to 1997, Jeff Bridges recognised its apotheosis when he took on the role of Dude, the inveterate deadbeat, in "The Big Lebowski" by the Coen brothers. A role the American actor didn't really have to act for and he admits today that laziness has always been his preferred method of working: "I spend most of my time avoiding work. Honestly, I'm a pretty lazy guy. It's a lot easier for me to turn down a role than take it!"
Is this the reason why, after having been nominated 5 times for Academy Awards, Jeff Bridges has never left with the much coveted statuette? This year, the actor is competing for the Oscar for the Best Actor in "Crazy Heart" by Scott Cooper, according to the latest predictions he is tipped to win this time. At the end of the day, his "laziness" may well pay off!
